Elizabeth (Liza) Pero 73,

Elizabeth (Liza) Pero 73, February 22,1952 - August 20, 2025. Let me tell you about my sister, Liza.   We couldn’t be more different.  Me, always willing to share.  Too much.   Liza, however, was much more reserved.  That’s what made her special. Liza passed away on August 20, 2025 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. She was predeceased by her parents, Dan Pero & Dorothy Galvin Pero. Liza enjoyed such wonderful life experiences with her college sweetheart and lifetime partner, Peter Hennessey, who passed away in 2019.

Liza is survived by her sister Paula, and brother-in-law, Bill Flynn of Mendon. She will always hold a special place in the hearts of her nephews, Justin Flynn & his wife, Ana Sanchez Leon of Quincy MA, Ryan Flynn & Laura Vasquez of Astoria NY, her niece, Alexandra Flynn and her husband Evan Crocker of Holliston, MA and her grandnephew, Alarik Lavour Sanchez of Quincy MA.  Liza is fondly remembered by her aunt Rita Pero and many cousins, especially Kathy Golden.

Liza attended St. Stephen’s Elementary School in Framingham and was a 1970 graduate of Framingham North High School.  She graduated from Worcester State College in 1974.  Liza enjoyed a 50 plus year career in the banking industry.  At the time of her passing, she was still employed at Leader Bank in Arlington, MA as VP Director of Ops & Electronic Banking. Liza, along with Peter, loved to own Apple & Bose products and accessories. They would greatly anticipate the release date of updated devices such as iPhones, laptops, watches & charges. Oh, and let’s not forget AirBuds & AirPods.

Much to the delight of her family who benefited from the hand-me downs. “A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost” Thank you, Liza, for being such an important influence in my life.

In her memory, please consider donating to the American Heart Association www.heart.org or Lustgarten Cancer Foundation/Pancreatic Cancer Research.  www.lustgarten.org A cause very dear to her. There will be no services.

Paula, this is a lovely tribute for Liza. She was a quiet and lovely lady and my cousin Peter’s soulmate. They loved technology and Peter would introduce me to the nuances of computers at our Wednesday meetings at my house. It was always fun and he would tell me of Liza’s input for what he was showing me. She was by Peter’s side during his Illness and well as all the happy days they spent together. They were a team. Family was so important to them and they cared for their parents on both sides without complaint and with loving attention. I’m happy thinking that they are together again and reveling in their reunion. All the best to you and your family. I’m privileged to to have watched your children grow from pre teens to adulthood. You and Bill are wonderful parents as well as friends. Deb Holmgren

Liza. I remember the first time I met you when I worked at Natick Apparel in the late 70's. You came in with your beautiful dog Shar. You were very sweet and kind. You and Peter had such a special relationship. You were truly soul mates. Now you both are together. Paula always talked about you. You will be missed. Sincerely , Dani Acconcia

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Liza. As her coworker, I had the privilege of witnessing her remarkable kindness and patience firsthand. Liza always went out of her way to support others, leading with joy and positivity. She had a wealth of knowledge, and if you didn't know something, the answer was always to ask Liza. She will forever make a lasting impact on all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. May you find comfort in the beautiful memories you shared and in the love of those around you.

Although I haven't seen or been in touch with my cousin, Liza, I have many fond memories of visits with her family when I was young. Many good memories...RIP, Liza. ❤️

Over the past eight years I’ve had the privilege and honor to work alongside Liza at Leader Bank. She was more than just a mentor manager and friend. She was family to me. We always shared our appreciation for technology together and she would always be enthusiastic about updates and product releases. I am where I am in my career today because of her influence and guidance. The trust and confidence she instilled in me. I will always carry. I’m deeply saddened for her loss, but I am also immensely grateful for the knowledge she imparted and friendship we shared. she will be sorely missed and I feel the loss of her presence every day. We used to speak everyday, multiple times a day. There is a deafening silence that reminds me of her loss and also gratitude and appreciation I have for her.
