Francis P. Manning, 87, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2025 at St. Patrick's Manor in Framingham. Fran was born March 25, 1938 in Cambridge, MA - the son of Patrick and Mary (Gallagher) Manning. He graduated from BC High School and then attended Boston College where he earned a Bachelor's Degree. Fran then served 3 years in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He returned home and attended Boston State College to earn a Master's Degree.
Fran ended up working in the Boston School System as a teacher. And during school vacations, he loved working part-time as bartender at his brother's restaurant - Captain Parker's in West Yarmouth. In 1979, Fran married Janice Ferraro. They spent cherished years together traveling, skiing and enjoying time with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Fran is survived by his brother Kevin of Brockton, Michael (Jack) of Avon, Gerry and his wife Marian of Yarmouth, his sister Eileen of Avon, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home - 46 Water Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 5 East Main Street. The burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
