Josephine L. (Oliva) Zacchilli, 96,

  Josephine L. (Oliva) Zacchilli, 96, of Milford, passed away, January 24, 2017 at the Medway Country Manor in Medway. She was the beloved wife of the late Aldo J. Zacchilli who passed away in 1993.  She was born in Milford daughter of the late Anthony and Angelina (Mastroianni) Oliva and lived in Milford and Hopedale most of her life. She was a graduate of Milford High School class of 1939.

For many years, Mrs. Zacchilli volunteered at the Milford Regional Medical Center. 

She is survived by her son Peter J. Zacchilli and his wife Rosemarie “Dirkie” Van Antwerp of Brewster and her grandchild, Michaela Zacchilli, of Providence RI.  She is also survived by her brother, Anthony Oliva, and his wife, Mary, of Milford, two sisters, Marquerite Compagnone of Milford and Eleanor Bernat of Upton, a sister-in-law Elizabeth Oliva of Milford and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Oliva, and sisters, Concetta Brucato and Mary Zacchilli all of Milford.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 10 A.M. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main St. The burial will follow in the Parish cemetery.

A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral Mass from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford.

I just saw this and I am so surprised!! Jessie was my confirmation sponsor, so many years ago ! I was just thinking of her recently!!! It has been many years since I last saw her. Such a lovely lady. My mom and Jessie were the best of friends. They are together now in heaven..Rest in peace sweet ladies.. God's blessings.
