Anthony Francis Mussulli Sr. 105

Mr.  Anthony Francis Mussulli Sr. 105, passed quietly into Eternal Life, Sunday morning, October 30th, 2016, with his family at his side. Born June 11, 1911, he was the son of the late  Pasquale and the late Pierina (Celozzi) Mussulli.  He was married 51 years to the late Eleanor M. (Kearnan) Mussulli who died in 1987.             As a boy Tony attended the Plains School up to the Seventh Grade.  He left school to help support his father and mother. He worked at Bandy’s Farm on upper West Fountain St.  During the Great Depression he worked on the WPA, Later he worked at The Milford Box Shop, several Milford shoe company’s and eventually got a job with the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale, MA, in the shipping room, and retired as second-shift foreman of that department after 43 years of service. Anthony was a devoted Catholic.  He was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, in Milford. He saw the parish grow from it’s early years into the magnificent complex that it is today.  For many years he was an Usher and Greeter at the 7 AM, Sunday Mass and was a former president of the Holy Name Society. During his term as president Tony arranged to have a young naval veteran to come and address the society’s annual Father/Son Communion Breakfast. The young veteran was seeking the seat for United States Representative for Congress, in Washington, D.C.    The young man was John Fitzgerald Kennedy, later to be elected President of the United States. Mr. Mussulli valued his family as his greatest joy.  He was a devoted husband and loving father.  Tony is survived by his five children: Anthony F. Mussulli, Jr., Patricia, wife of Anthony DePasquale, Eleanor, wife of Ralph Porzio, Deacon Pasquale G. Mussulli, all of Milford, and Rossella, wife of Robert Minichiello, Sr. of Medway.  17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren. And many generations of nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his daughter-in-law Theresa (Perrault) Mussulli, his granddaughter Sandra (Porzio) Cenedella, and great-grandson Russell Willingham.  Also his five brothers: Matthew Sr., Francesco, Henry (Boots), Louis, and John (Jake); and his five sisters: Josephine Venziano, Mary DeSantis, Ethel DeCollibus, Elizabeth Iacovelli, and Rose DeSalvia. Tony was also predeceased by his longtime companion of more than 20 years, Eleanor Gonsalves. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 10 AM in the upper level of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. 7 East Main St. Milord, Ma.   Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Medway Road, Route 109, Milford, 01757.  Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 from 3 to 7 PM at the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water Street, Milford, MA. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial donations in his name may be made to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Legacy of Faith Fund,  5 East Main St., Milford, Ma. 01757; or Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), 5517 Old Leeds Road, Irondale, AL  35210-9948
