Fernanda R. Costa, 81, of Milford, where she has lived for almost 30 years, died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at home, surrounded by her family.
Devoted wife of Candido Alves for 56 years, she was born in Sapelos, Portugal, the daughter of the late Joao Costa and Carolina Ramalhete.
She retired in 1996 from the former Sharon Fasteners in Milford, where she had worked as a packager for 10 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Milford, and was well known for her Portuguese bread.
Loving mother of Domingos Alves of Millville, Carlos Alves of Portugal, Jose Alves of Millville, and Maria F. (Alves) Oliveira of Milford. Sister of Armindo Costa of FL, Joao Ramalhete of Ludlow, Carlota Gama of Mendon, Palmira Costa of France, and the late Salvador Costa. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford, on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10AM, followed by Funeral Service at 11AM at the Assembly of God, 190 Main St., Milford. Burial will follow at Vernon Grove Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday evening from 5-8PM.
