Rose A. (Giorgianni) DelloRusso, 87,

Rose A. (Giorgianni) DelloRusso, 87, passed away peacefully at Milford Regional Hospital on Tuesday, March 15. Rose was born and raised on Prince St. in the North End of Boston. She spent most of her adult life in East Boston, MA, and later lived in Wakefield and Westford before settling in Milford. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank G. DelloRusso, and cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Carmela (Nuccio) Giorgianni, who immigrated to the US in the early 1920s from the village of San Pier Niceto, Sicily, Italy. She graduated from Boston Girls High School in 1953.

Rose was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed raising and caring for her family. When her children became older, she worked for a time in the Boston Public Schools as an Office Assistant at East Boston High. She was a proud Italian-American who shared many colorful – and often hilarious - stories and anecdotes from her Sicilian culture. She loved Italian food, recipes, and cooking with her grandchildren. Rose was extremely knowledgeable, eager to learn even at her advanced age. She was greatly interested in everything from pop culture to politics. With an emphasis on the latter, she would often be tuned in to the latest congressional session or national/global issue of the moment. She was deeply religious and lived her life in complete, total faith and devotion to God. She believed with her whole heart and soul; the Bible and prayer were lifelong constants and comfort. Rose’s greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, who will miss her deeply. She has left a truly indelible mark on our hearts and will forever be adoringly remembered.

Rose is lovingly survived by her son Gaetano (Guy) DelloRusso and his wife Rita of Milford; daughter Analisa DelloRusso-White and her husband James White of Salem, MA, and daughter Gina DelloRusso of Milford.  She was the treasured Nonna of four grandchildren: Anthony White of Merrimack, NH; Marina White of Salem, MA; and Elena and Diana DelloRusso of Milford, of whom she was immensely proud. She was also predeceased by her siblings: Catherine Eide, Mary Cuccinotta, and Nicola, Joseph, Giuseppe, Natale, and Santo Giorgianni, all of Boston.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, March 20, at 10 A.M. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 7 East Main St. The burial will follow in the parish cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford MA

Hello Guy. This morning I learned the sad news of your mom's passing. I pray that God's comfort and strength see you and your family through this difficult time. I have fond memories of our Lubec Street days and remember your lovely mom and dad. They were decent, genuine people. Be well, Nick Marchione
