Glory P. Zyskowski, 84

Glory P. Zyskowski passed away on Friday, July 29 at Countryside Healthcare surrounded by her children.   She was born in New Bedford, MA to Aldea and Stanley Stykowski on May 14, 1938.  Glory was named after a race horse and her name has been a topic of delight throughout her life.  She graduated from Holy Family High school and Newbury Junior College.   She was a former cook/cafeteria worker at Milford High School and Oakledge Manor Nursing Home.  She also spent her whole life sewing for people, doing alterations.  She was a friend to everyone and loved by all. Glory had a genuine love of people and had many friendships.  She loved every get together at her house and each gathering brought in lots of family and friends.

Glory was especially famous for recreating the Milford School systems wonderful pizza burgers and hosted several pizza burger parties that were enjoyed by all that attended. She loved taking bus trips with the senior center, participating in the other senior center activities and her red hat club meetings.  Glory loved history and current events.  You could always ask Glory anything about what was going on in the world with current events and she was always on top of it.  Glory spent her last years in ill health but never once complained about her circumstances. Glory fiercely loved her children.

She leaves Patricia (Shigehiko) of Duluth, GA, Gail of New Bedford and John (Mary) of Pelham, MA.  She was preceded in death by her son Thomas who passed away in January 2022.  She leaves her (adopted daughters), Debra Lofty (Louis) of Phoenix, AZ and Sunita Hajare (Ankur) of Milford.  She leaves eight grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Thomas, Corey, Emma, Andrew, Cassandra and Jonathan along with two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Anthony.

She leaves her special friend, Louis Calabrese, her very dear neighbor, Linda Abrams and Russell Smith (Peg).  She also leaves her former daughter in law, Robyn and several nieces and nephews. Lastly, she leaves a large circle of friends. Glory made sure her children were taken care of and no matter what her situation was and at any given time, she would give the shirt off of her back or any money she could to help someone out.   She discreetly made monthly contributions to certain charities that she was fond of.

The family would like to thank Dr. Dagmar Klinger, Dr Eric Iida and Dr Ritu Soni and Fresenius Kidney Care Blackstone Valley.   A special thanks to Countryside Healthcare team for their care of Glory, especially Beth Peacock, Abigail Forshay, Krystin Benson and Diana Flores.

We would also like to thank John Rockwell of Blackstone Livery and his team for making sure Glory always got to her many appointments. Lastly thank you to Travis Romano and his team at Blair House Assisted Living where she enjoyed several years living there.

My sincerest condolences to Glory's family. She was my Aunt Dot's roommate at Countryside and whenever I went to see my aunt, I loved visiting with Glory as well. Her wit was so sharp and she would always make me laugh! It also amazed me how she seemed to know everyone from the town of Milford! She will be truly missed.

Patricia, I know how you feel about your Mother and how she felt about you. These next days will be so difficult as you figure out how to navigate life without Glory. I know you will miss her so much and the void that she leaves will never be filled. Remember the Cardinals or Red Birds. When you see them, someone from Heaven is paying you a visit. I hope they give you comfort in the days that follow. Praying for your entire family. Thank you for always sharing Glory with me. I loved to see her smile.
