Ernesto Pires Lucas, 68, of Milford, where he has lived since 1983, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, July 8, 2021. He was the loving husband of Ana Maria Lucas for 36 years.
Born in Arcos, Portugal, he was the son of the late Domingos and Rosa (Pires) Lucas.
He retired in 2007, after working for 30 years as an asphalt paver. He had served in the Portuguese Military for 2 years, and was a member of the Milford Portuguese Club.
He is also survived by his daughter Nancy R. Lucas of Milford & her partner Bernardino Goncalves. His son David R. Lucas and his wife Carolina Lucas of Milford. Brother of John Lucas of Milford, Artur Lucas of Portugal, Candida Alves of Brazil, and Lena Leal of Brazil. And is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Noah and Jack Lucas, and Savannah and Logan Goncalves.
Relatives and friends may gather at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St., Milford, on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 10AM, for a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Winter St. Milford. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery on Cedar St. in Milford.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday evening from 5-8PM
