Charles (Mac) E. Dudas, 86

Charles (Mac) E. Dudas, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the Hebert Health & Rehab Center in North Smithfied, RI after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia. He was the loving and devoted husband of 50 years to Christina (Robbins) Dudas who predeceased him in 2008.  He is survived by: his daughter Robin Machione and her husband, Larry Machione of Mendon, MA, his granddaughter Katherine Machione of Saco, ME and grandson, Christopher Machione of Mendon, MA.  His grandson, Michael Machione, predeceased him in 2000, his sister, Charlotte (Dudas) Giafardino predeceased him in 2018.  His close and devoted companion, Florence Morreale predeceased him in 2015.

Mac grew up in Byram, CT and lived in Danbury, CT for over 35 years with his family.  Thereafter he lived in Uxbridge, MA and then Mendon, MA to be closer to his daughter and her family.  Mac was a Veteran of the Army, and had a lifelong career as a mechanical draftsman. He was an active member and Past Exulted Ruler of the Elks Lodge 120 in Danbury, CT.   His favorite hobby was wood working and he would surprise his family with his latest creations which included a high chair, cradle, wagon and Christmas “Creatures” which are proudly displayed on his daughter’s front lawn every year.  This year the display won the Town decoration category for “Best Theme”.  The display consists of cartoon characters and Santa with his sleigh and reindeer.   He loved laughing and playing cards.  His mantra was “the more, the merrier”.

The family asks that donations be made to Children’s Hospital Boston in his memory.  Services will be private for the family.  When the coast is clear there will be a memorial bash to celebrate Mac’s life.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Consigli Ruggerio funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford MA

Dear Robin, I was so saddened this morning to read your Dad's obit in the News Times. It brought back memories of you and your mom and the happy days in Danbury when we were all young. Pam and I will be praying for you and your family.
Rose Mary Peat

We fondly remember both your parents from when they lived on Corn Tassle Rd in Danbury CT. Condolences to the family
