Manuel Dias, 95,

Manuel Dias, 95, of Milford, died Saturday May 6, 2017 in his home. He was the husband of Gloria A. (Nogueira) Dias for 75 years. He was born in Providence RI, son of Manuel and Mary (Santos) Dias and lived in Milford most of his life. He was a graduate of Milford High school class of 1940. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a Merchant Marine. Mr. Dias retired in 1984 from General Motors in Framingham where he was employed as an autoworker.  He was a member of the U.A.W. #422 and a communicant of the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church.          

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Joseph Dias and his wife Pauline of Las Cruces NM, Steven Dias and his wife Gale of Columbia IL, Elaine Avery-Barnes of Milford, Darlene and her husband John East of Medway, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.          

He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Dias.          

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, May 11, 2017 10 A.M. at the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church on Winter St. The burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral Mass from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St.  

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Salmon V.N.A. and Hospice 37 Birch St Milford MA 01757
