James G. Scanzaroli, 90 of Milford, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the Vantage Health and Rehabilitation Center in Milford. He was the husband of Ann Marie (Scirocco) Scanzaroli for 52 years. He was born in Milford Son of the late Francisco and Mary (Schiappa) Scanzaroli and was a lifelong Milford resident. He was a graduate of the Milford high School class of 1952. He was an Army veteran serving from 1957 to 1959.
Jim, along with his parents, owned and operated The South Main St Market for many years. He was employed at Milford Heating and Cooling, he was also a retired member of Teamster Local #170 of Worcester and was also employed at Atlas Distributing Company. He served as a recording treasurer at the Hoboken Citizen’s Club for many years. His hobbies included traveling, and dancing. He was an avid reader and fisherman, who supplied fresh fish to many friends and family.
James was the loved and adored step-father of Robert Alves and his wife Hea Yong of Alexandria VA and Boca Raton FL, James Alves of Wildomar CA, Michael Alves of Milford, He was the beloved grandfather of Debbie and her husband Rob, Amanda, and her husband Sam, Colby, Barett, Joey, Jack and great grandsons, Riley and Aiden. He is survived by his brother Joseph Scanzaroli and his wife Sherry of Hopedale, two sisters, Anna and her husband Paul Tymon of Worcester, and Cecelia and her husband John O’Meara of Milford and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow 10 A.M. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 5 East Main St. The burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
