 Eric “Ric” Tracey Torey, 73,

Eric “Ric” Tracey Torey, 73, passed away on June 22, 2024. He was a lifelong resident of Mendon, MA and the son of the late Karl Harry and Ruth Ethel (Tracey) Torey. After graduating from Nipmuc High School, Ric served in the United States Army as a Specialist Fourth Class before he was honorably discharged.

His career was fueled by his love for airplanes and flying and worked as a mechanic in the aviation industry and specialized in sheet metal. He was known to be the best of the best and served many years working at Hanscom Airforce base. While working he even spent his spare time building a full VR-4 airplane in his residence.

He enjoyed spending many years with family and friends at lake Manchaug, and was also accompanied by his late fishing pup, Tasha. Rick enjoyed his last time at his home with his family, watching his favorite hummingbirds.

Ric is survived by his daughter Ashley V. Hutton, her husband Bobby and their son Luke of Winchendon, MA.  He is also survived by friends, especially Jessie Belden and the Belden family.

A calling hour will be held from 10 to11AM on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, followed by a funeral home service at the Consigli Ruggiero Funeral Home, 46 Water Street, Milford, MA. The burial will take place in the Swandale cemetery in Mendon, MA.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Salmon VNA and Hospice, 37 Birch St, Milford, MA 01757.

I’m so sorry for you loss Eric was definitely the best of the best working sheet metal. He worked with us in Plymouth and everyone from Paragon Air misses him so much. We all went to his home at the lake for water skiing one summer where I met you but you were a little girl at the time. I would hav come by but I was in the hospital myself that week . RIP Eric

Ashley,I am so sorry for the passing of your Dad. He was a truely unique man and ahead of his time. He was genius and knew how to be here now. To enjoy the moment. He paid attention to what was at hand without distractions in his thoughts. He welcomed everybody and the more the merrier. He may have been at the end of the campground, but many a flotta came across the cove. We had cb radios to keep track of the kids..He had a great laugh and was a kind and thoughtful person. He did the very best he could..He loved nature, its flora and creatures. I was fortunate to know him for 58 years. God Bless

Ashley I’m sorry for your loss. Eric was an amazing craftsman. He would just walk around a new project very confident then come up with a genius plan to repair. Nobody else would think of this method, but it would be the best way every time. We were all fascinated by his skills and he was just such pleasant personality to spend time with. We will miss him!!! A countless number people still fly around in his work daily and will for decades to come…. I guess in a way he lives on and on. Adam Harris
