Anna A. (Azevedo) Nogueira, 99,

Anna A. (Azevedo) Nogueira, 99, of Milford, passed away, Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Countryside Healthcare of Milford. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph A. (Tony) Nogueira who passed away in 2012. She was born in Milford, daughter of the late Francisco and Gracinda (Ferreira) Azevedo and was a lifelong Milford resident. She was educated in the Milford schools.

Anna worked for the former Draper Corporation in Hopedale where she was employed as an assembler. In 1950 she left her job and devoted the rest of her life to being a homemaker and mother, raising her family and lovingly helping to care for her grandchildren. She was a wonderfully talented cook and baker, and seeing everyone enjoy a delicious meal was one of her special joys. She was a caring and generous neighbor, and part of a very close-knit neighborhood throughout her life.  She was a communicant of the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church.

She is survived by three sons, Joseph J. Nogueira and his wife Margaret of Mendon, Robert Nogueira of Milford, Kenneth Nogueira and his wife Lynn of Franklin, five grandchildren, Amy Durand, Mark Nogueira, Daniel Nogueira, Thomas Nogueira and Bethany Vilandry, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Albertino Azevedo, Albert Azevedo and one sister, Mary (Mello) Serrano.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 10 A.M. in the St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church on Winter St. in Milford. The burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery on Cedar St. in Milford.

A calling hour will be held Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water St. Milford MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to St. Mary’s of the Assumption parish, or to the charity of your choice.

Guest Book

When I told my son, Steven, about Anna's passing, he said that he will miss her cooking. When I told him that she had not cooked for some time, he said that she will live on as long as he uses her recipes. I will truly miss seeing Anna. She has been a big part of my life for some time. I know, though, that she is finally happy again and with her family.
